What is your reason to join with Teach For Indonesia?

At first, I am not so into joining TFI because I Think I will have a hard time teaching kids who speak a different language.

Yet, one day I am so curious whether I can help so I became an observerin TFI Class.

As I see the enthuasiasm in those kids, the well planned lessons prepared by TFI, I am so inspired then I register to be one of the volunteers.

What is your opinion about Teach For Indonesia?

Personally, TFI is a good platform of spreading education in a way that both the volunteers and the learners can showcase and receive knowledge the experience from one another.

Despite that fact that I am Cambodian, I find language is not a barrier to help the society. As long as I have something to share and my willingness to help, I could transfer my knowledge to kids in needs with assistance from other local TFI Volunteers.

TFI brings me closer to knowledge thirst young learners, closer to Indonesian people and society making me a part of a place which once was new to me.

What activities have you done in Teach For Indonesia?

Basically, I volunteer teaching young Indonesian kids who are studying in grade 2 and grade 6. The subject which I teach is English. During my teaching, I assist and create entertaining environment in a way of learning in possible wasy as I can.

I help our young learners translating English words, help them understanding its meaning by actions and English explanations plus little Indonesian. I encourage our learners to participate in class performance such as games, expressing their opinions, answering question. Most importantly, I feel a must to give support to shy kids to be more active in the class and keep pushing the active ones to keepĀ  up their work
