Garage Sale, Bukti BINUS UNIVERSITY Peduli Kusta
Jakarta – BINUS Teach For Indonesia (TFI), melalui Garage Sale, tergerak mengumpulkan dana membantu para penderita maupun mereka yang pernah mengidap penyakit kusta. Pengumpulan dana dilakukan dengan menjual barang-barang bekas layak pakai dengan harga terjangkau pada 20-26 Januari 2012 di Kampus Syahdan, BINUS UNIVERSITY.
“Teman-teman penderita maupun yang pernah mengalami sakit kusta bukanlah seseorang atau komunitas untuk diasingkan, mereka sama seperti kita yang ingin hidup layak dan bahagia, dapat diterima oleh lingkungan sekitar dengan layak, dapat menikmati pendidikan, dan lainnya,” ujar Community Development Manager Maria Intan Setiadi.
Dalam kegiatan yang baru kali pertama diadakan TFI ini, panitia menjalani rangkaian proses seperti penyampaian informasi pengumpulan barang, penyortiran barang dan klasifikasi harga. Hasil yang diperoleh akan digunakan untuk modal awal bisnis anggota komunitas mantan penderita kusta.
“Dengan kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat memandirikan mereka melalui usaha mandiri sehingga mereka dan keluarga dapat hidup lebih layak untuk mendapatkan pendidikan dan peningkatan taraf hidup,” lanjut Maria Intan.
Barang bekas layak pakai yang diperjualbelikan dalam Garage sale ini antara lain berupa telepon genggam, alas kaki, pakaian, perlengkapan makan, aksesori, peralatan elektronik, buku, perangkat bayi, tas, dan lain-lain. Harga yang ditawarkan amat terjangkau mulai Rp 3.000 per barang.(YD)

Garage Sale, Proof of BINUS UNIVERSITY Caring for Leprosy
Jakarta – BINUS Teach For Indonesia (TFI), through Garage Sale, was moved to raise funds to help sufferers and those who have had leprosy. Funds are collected by selling used goods that are suitable for use at affordable prices on January 20-26, 2012 at the Syahdan Campus, BINUS UNIVERSITY.
“Friends and sufferers who have had leprosy are not someone or a community to be isolated, they are the same as us who want to live properly and happily, can be accepted by the surrounding environment properly, can enjoy education, and others,” said Community Development Manager Maria Intan Setiadi.
In this activity which was held for the first time, the committee underwent a series of processes such as the delivery of information on collection of goods, sorting of goods and price classification. The results obtained will be used for the initial capital of the business community members of former leprosy sufferers.
“This activity is expected to be able to make them independent through independent business so that they and their families can live more decent lives to get education and improve their standard of living,” continued Maria Intan.
Used used goods that are traded in this Garage sale include cellphones, footwear, clothing, eating equipment, accessories, electronic equipment, books, baby equipment, bags, and others. The price offered is very affordable starting at Rp. 3,000 per item.
