Dalam rangka memperingati Hari Pahlawan, Teach For Indonesia, Bina Nusantara menyelenggarakan sebuah acara bersama para prajurit TNI di Batalyon Arhanudri 1/1 Kostrad Serpong, Tangerang. Acara ini merupakan sebuah kegiatan kolaborasi yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan semangat kami anggota Teach For Indonesia, volunteer yang terdiri dari mahasiswa Bina Nusantara, serta para prajurit TNI sendiri dalam mengobarkan semangat kepahlawanan untuk Indonesia sejahtera. Oleh karena itu, Teach For Indonesia memilih sebuah tema yang memiliki makna serupa, yakni “Kobarkan Semangat Kepahlawanan untuk Indonesia Sejahtera”. Selanjutnya, terdapat empat kegiatan utama dalam kebersamaan ini, antara lain senam pagi; lomba menghias cupcake; lomba menebak bumbu dapur; dan bazar sembako murah.

Acara ini dimulai dengan memanjatkan doa kepada Tuhan yang Maha Esa, di mana para volunteer dan prajurit TNI sudah berkumpul di tengah lapangan. Selanjutnya dilanjutkan dengan kata sambutan dari pihak Teach For Indonesia dan TNI. Setelah selesai sambutan, tanpa berlama-lama lagi, senam pagi dimulai dengan iringan musik. Tidak lupa untuk saling mengenal satu sama lain antara pasukan TNI dengan para volunteer TFI.

Setelah senam pagi selesai, dua kegiatan utama berikutnya segera dimulai, yaitu lomba menghias cupcake untuk ibu-ibu dan anak-anak serta lomba menebak bumbu dapur untuk para prajurit TNI. Aturan bermain untuk lomba menghias cupcake dijelaskan oleh panitia, yaitu untuk masing-masing kelompok yang terdiri dari 2 orang, harus menghias cupcake. Waktu yang diberikan untuk menghias cupcake adalah 5 menit. Para peserta hanya boleh menghias cupcake menggunakan alat dan bahan yang sudah disediakan oleh panitia. Masing-masing ronde dijalankan dengan kelompok yang berbeda. Dari masing-masing ronde akan dipilih 1 pemenang berdasarkan keputusan juri yang bersifat mutlak dengan mempertimbangkan beberapa komponen penilaian.

Setelah itu, dilanjutkan lomba menebak bumbu dapur untuk para prajurit TNI. Aturan bermain untuk menebak bumbu dapur adalah setiap peserta wajib menggunakan penutup mata. Setiap peserta diberikan waktu sebanyak 5 menit untuk menebak 10 bumbu dapur yang telah disediakan oleh panitia, peserta boleh mengendus, meraba, dan yang lainnya namun tidak boleh melihat. Jenis bumbu dapur yang disediakan oleh panitia akan berbeda setiap rondenya. Dari masing-masing ronde yang terdiri dari 5 peserta, akan dipilih 1 pemenang berdasarkan banyaknya tebakan yang benar. Jika terdapat 2 orang atau lebih yang jumlah tebakan benarnya sama, maka akan dilihat dari waktunya siapa yang lebih cepat menyelesaikan lomba.

Kegiatan terakhir yang paling ditunggu orang tua atau ibu-ibu dari anak-anak ini adalah bazaar sembako murah, di mana terdapat 2 paket sembako. Paket pertama yang berisi minyak, gula, mie instan, deterjen, kecap, tepung, sabun cuci piring hanya seharga Rp 50.000. Paket kedua berisi mie instan, deterjen, kecap, tepung, sabun cuci piring hanya seharga Rp 40.000.

Akhirnya berakhirlah seluruh rangkaian acara kebersamaan antara Teach For Indonesia dengan prajurit TNI di Batalyon Arhanudri 1/1 Kostrad Serpong, Tangerang. Together We Can Change Indonesia.

In commemoration of Heroes’ Day, Teach For Indonesia, Bina Nusantara held an event with TNI soldiers in the Arhanudri 1/1 Kostrad Serpong Battalion, Tangerang. This event is a collaborative activity that aims to increase the enthusiasm of our members of Teach For Indonesia, volunteers consisting of Bina Nusantara students, and TNI soldiers themselves in fueling the spirit of heroism for a prosperous Indonesia. Therefore, Teach For Indonesia chose a theme that has a similar meaning, namely “Stir the Spirit of Heroism for Prosperous Indonesia”. Furthermore, there are four main activities in this togetherness, including morning exercise; cupcake decorating contest; kitchen seasoning guessing contest; and cheap food bazaars.

The event began with a prayer to God Almighty, where volunteers and TNI soldiers had gathered in the middle of the field. Then followed by remarks from Teach For Indonesia and the TNI. After finishing the speech, without lingering any longer, morning exercises begin with musical accompaniment. Do not forget to get to know each other between TNI troops and TFI volunteers.

After the morning gymnastics was over, the next two main activities began immediately, namely a cupcake decorating contest for mothers and children and a seasoning guessing competition for TNI soldiers. The rules of play for the cupcake decorating contest are explained by the committee, namely for each group consisting of 2 people, they must decorate the cupcake. The time given to decorate a cupcake is 5 minutes. Participants may only decorate the cupcake using the tools and materials provided by the committee. Each round is run with a different group. From each round 1 winner will be chosen based on the jury’s decision which is absolute by considering several assessment components.

After that, the competition was continued to guess the herbs for the TNI soldiers. The rule of play for guessing herbs is that each participant is obliged to use an eye patch. Each participant is given 5 minutes to guess the 10 spices that have been provided by the committee, participants may sniff, touch, and others but may not see. The types of spices provided by the committee will be different for each round. From each round consisting of 5 participants, 1 winner will be chosen based on the number of correct guesses. If there are 2 or more people who have the same number of correct guesses, it will be seen from the time who is faster to finish the race.

The last activity awaited by parents or mothers of these children is a cheap food bazaar, where there are 2 packages of basic food items.
